Midwest Research Swine was founded in 1986 by Dave and Terry Theis of rural Gibbon, Minnesota. The company prides itself on offering high-quality, affordable research swine to the biomedical research industry.

Owners Dave & Terry Theis
After attending the University of Minnesota, Dave began his farming career which included a commercial hog operation. He became an expert herdsman and farmer which earned him recognition as one of the top 10 best-managed farms in America by Top Farmer Magazine.
He continues his education by attending technical and biomedical industry conferences. His industry involvement includes memberships with the National AALAS, Minnesota AALAS and Iowa AALAS.
Certifications earned from the National and/or Minnesota Pork Producers include Pork Quality Assurance and Transport Quality Assurance. The company and its staff abide by the ethical principals outlined in the We Care program of the National Pork Producers.
Terry plays an integral role in the management of the company as she works with clients, critical documentation, and hands-on by working on the floor in tissue collection.
Together as a team, they manage and operate Midwest Research Swine, Midwest Porcine Recovery and MRS Pork.
